Yes, he's selling them in batches - that way, they generate more cash. I think the U2107 is a later model isn't it, with no bag light?

The one I really want is that Purepower BigFoot, but I think Josh wants it too, so its a bidding war! - they are very rare now, although does it have a bag light?

I might be interested in a Dyson DC01 brand new though if he has any - especially the DeStijl. I think he has got a DC02 DeStijl - that will be worth some money!

You have to agree though that these vacs have generated a lot of excitement in an otherwise flat and boring period of time, where there isn't much decent stuff in Currys and Argos to buy, ahead of the new EU regs coming in September. Also, its opportunities to buy bagged uprights, that are so lacking in todays market.

The U2462 Turbopower made in the UK with the ball full light is already up to £165. I estimate it could go for anything up to £300. I hope HooverCandy are watching these auctions - this is more than it would have sold for 20 years ago, and more than most Hoover bagless uprights sell for today. And its within the EU 900W limit! Imagine what an Autosense model would sell for if only they had one to sell?!

Just goes to show that people are prepared to pay for quality, feature packed, UK built Hoovers of yesteryear.

Yes, Beko, its tempting I know to use a NIB machine, but then its not new, and considerably de-valued. The only time you should ever turn it on is to make sure it actually works. We must realise that these machines have been in storage for anything up to 2 decades! Boxes could be full of spiders etc, and rubber drivebelts will be perished, stretched and past it, especially the non toothed type.

I know Roger bought a 90's NIB Vax upright carpet washer from this company (Cee Jay, or Discontinued but Discounted) and the box was full of spiders and cobwebs from being in storage! But the machine was fine. (Watch the part where he opens the box and the spider attacks here:)

Very true, especially if you've paid hundreds for it. But I don't think I could resist at least opening the box, and by that point its 'soiled' and not nib.

Did Hoover ship them with the brushroll attached? Hope the box hasn't got hot and the grease has run out of all the bearings!

I think their boxes were all stored in a loft or storage container long term, so they wouldn't have been hot, maybe a bit damp, but Roger has had a few things from them and they have worked OK, just the boxes a bit battered!

Hoover did ship their vacs with the belts attached, so did Dyson, so any Dyson uprights with clutches are gonna be needing clutch belt replacements by now, as the clutch to motor belt will be overstretched and slipping badly with age.

Aside from the belts, we must also realise that any guarantee will be long gone. Fortunately, the belts should be the only problem area on a new old stock model.

With regards to the Dysons, I have a large selection of genuine belts, floor heads, filters etc. I am happy to provide a spare set of whichever accessories I have for that model with the lot free of charge. I will add this to the listing early next week once I have the opportunity to check what I have.

Also, I have email confirmation from Dyson that providing they have the parts available they will honour the warranties. I will also add this to the listings to alleviate any worries. And forward the email to the buyers for peace of mind.

Thanks

To date, the only models that are obsolete and no longer supported by Dyson are the DC01 and DC02. I would imagine that the DC04 and DC05 will be following this pattern soon.

In all honesty, it would be foolish to buy a NIB Dyson from this era and use it, as NIB models will now be VERY rare indeed. The DC01 and DC02 I would imagine would be worth the most in the long term as they were the first ever Dysons. It was these models that started the bagless craze and made Dyson famous. They belong in a museum and to be cherished rather than being used as daily drivers.

I have more listings which are scheduled to finish over Easter weekend. Aside from these, I have been instructed by Gareth to cease listing as he has been approached by a collector who has offered to survey and value the cleaners and use the contacts he has.

I am overwhelmed by the excitement and enthusiasm over these cleaners. However, Gareth and his father have lost a considerable amount of money storing stock over the years so are far more clinical about their sale than I.

We have been told that cleaners like the DC02 De Stilje come with hens teeth attached and have to 'sell responsibly'.

It should be a good weekend though
:-)

So you've been approached by a collector who wants to buy them all privately then. Ah well. That's life. Money talks, as I said earlier, although I'd have thought that auctioning them would reveal what they were worth. They are only worth what people are prepared to pay.

Looks like they are gonna be sold privately now Mr Parwaz, so I doubt it. We will just have to see how it pans out and cease pestering the seller. I presume they could have had a large offer from a collector which will maximise their return on them rather than selling on ebay and having to pay ebay/paypal fees.

Right, This isn't fair, we have had interest first, and we can just make offers in vacuumland and they can accept it! It's just so wrong on so many levels... We really want those you know Cee Jay
