Well the Turbo Groom was made for the early Kirby Heritages.
About 1981/2. The use to fit on the suction hose. So as you trimmed your hair it sucked the trimmed bits away.
My friend who was a Kirby distributor for over 20 years said they was good to use in the kirby demo.
But you could get complants if you just started trimming the family dog. lol

Hi, I think its safe to say I doubt kirby do have/sell them anymore since they stop making them half way through the Heritage run.
Your best looking on ebay unless anyone here has one spare.

Hello Jayson.
The Turbo Groom was intended for people. However, over the years, I've had many customers tell me they love it for their animals. I had one of them, who 'rigged up' or as Bill (eurekastar) would say 'Southern engineered' it with an extra, extra long hose, & she used it for her horses.
The TG has not even had replacement parts available from Kirby for over 15 years, if my memory serves me correct.
Your best bet, as mentioned above, would be either someone here in the VCCC or thru eBay.
This seller [[ bamcdc ]] did have one back in November that went unsold I believe. You might attempt messaging them & ask if they still have it available. Some sellers rotate their postings when they don't sell. At that time it was: $9.97 for a starting bid & shipping of $7.00 s/h, who knows now?!?!?! ~~lol~~
If you like, let me know, I will keep my eyes open for one.

Ps: One of the reasons for its demise, was around that time, a good majority of places (stylists) were switching to scissors for use. Especially kids then, no longer wanted others to know... mom or dad cut their hair. I was one of them. ~~lol~~
Even though my mother used scissors (& did a great job), it was time for a stylist. (aka exce$$ wa$te of my preciou$ $$$) I'll never forget when I came home from the stylist that first time. My mother had me L@@K with two mirrors at the back of my head. Needless to say, mother did a much better & straighter job; however, I did stay with a stylist ever since. I have always just checked it before leaving though. ~~lol~~

Is the Flow Bee Hair Cutting System as good as the Turbo Groomer?
Anyone else, has anyone on the forum used the Flow Bee? Is it worth the money? I have wanted one for years, but have heard mixed stories from the internet about them.

I don't know comparison between the two. I can tell you the Kirby TG was made by Wahl for Kirby, if my memory serves me correct. Either that or it was licensed from their patent.
I L@@Ked at the one in my collection & it does NOT say 'Wahl' on it anywhere, even inside the actual unit itself; however, the 'combs' do have 'Wahl' embossed on them.
Usually Wahl made products, have been very dependable thru the years. I don't know about their quality nowadays though. Maybe someone else here on the VCCC has more knowledge about Wahl.

I haven't seen a Kirby Turbogroom but I can recommend Wahl clippers; a have about 8 sets from professional down to the Peanut. Use 'em on my beard and what's left on my head regularly.
Being interested in all vacuum related gadgets I could not resist picking this up at Sally Ann for $2.
The 2006 RoboCut.
Designed to attach to any standard vacuum hose, the rotary cutting head is similar to a Pill Fuzz cutter for socks & sweaters, with a much thicker stainless steel blade.
I well remember the commercials and infomercials for this
Although my kit is complete with all the guards and an extra 4 head blade I've never had the nerve to try it and suspect the guy who mail-ordered this one didn't either.
It just screams OUCH!

Got a Flowbee Pet Groomer, too.
Its cutting head has a reciprocating blade like a hedge trimmer.
Not sure how your head or pet would like this, either. LOL
And it's louder than blazes. Scares me.

But the best thing about an older Flowbee if you can find one is the coloured plastic. I shrieked and grabbed this one - Pete was there - because of the 9 foot turquoise hose which makes an excellent substitute for a GE Roll-Easy.
Sure the colour is a bit off but with all the turquoise shades mixed up on the GE, dang, is it turquoise or what! A perfect fit on the Roll-Easy hose ends and with very close fitting corrugation rings extremely supple and flexible.
Yeah, I checked, Flowbee no longer offers a turquoise hose. :-(

THATS RIGHT-now I remember-and I have one that I got with a Kirby Heritage I bought from a neighbor.The shears wasn't even used-still wrapped in cellophane.I kept thinking about that Dyson tool.and the FlowBees-saw one at a yard sale-now regretting I didn't buy it.Its a vacuum cleaner related attachemnt.the Turbo Groom-guess Kirby came up with a hair shears that collected the clippings BEFORE Flowbee.From my Dads home haircutting days--imagine if he used that Turbo Groom on the old Sears Shop Vac!would need the adpators of course-2" hose to 1.25".

Since i've started viewing the G Series tapes i've wondered who does all the changing of the parts/narrates, and where does it all take place and is it all a script? Very currious to know what people tell me. I'm sure someone will.
