TTI Hoover Constellation S3345 for Sale in Toronto

Hi guys,

Well I've decided to sell my 2006 Stainless Steel Hoover Constellation canister vac. I am not happy with the exhaust blowing out of the bottom and will be looking for an "up-blowing" canister vac to replace it. I also find that 12 amps is far too much power needed for a canister and I want to reduce my electricity bills as much as possible. I find that I constantly feel rushed using it knowing how much electricity it is drawing.

Before I try to sell it in my highrise apartment building, I wanted to know if any friends here at Vacuumland would like to buy it. It's in very good shape, since I took care of it very well. I even have genuine Hoover Style "S" Hepa bags for it. It's turbo carpet nozzle is actually quite amazing.

I would prefer not to have to pack this up for shipping (since I don't think I could pack this very well).So I would love to find someone who may be passing through Toronto in the next month or two so that I could just hand it over to them in person.

It cost me $200 Canadian with tax in 2008 from The Bay department store, so I would be happy with half that amount.

Well seeing as I got one already a gift from Dave I'll have to take a pass as well. I think you'll regret selling it though, they're gone and not likely to reappear imho

about being concerned about how much electricity your Connie is drawing while using it..I really don't think it will increase your hydro bill very much.Do you have BC Hydro where you live?

Hi Pete! Wow...that Dave in Stratford is some nice guy! Was it a birthday gift? Woody's would be a great place! Have not been there in a while.....meet you there anytime.

You know, I wish I could keep it but rents are so high here in Toronto that I can't afford much more than a one-room bachelor apartment. So I don't have the room to start up a vac collection. That's why it's gotta go - but I would want it to go to a good home where it would be appreciated.

I'm also not that happy using it - the exhaust blows dust everywhere off the floor, the springy hose causes the unit to constantly knock at your feet, and the floating features makes it slide into walls and furniture far too easily. Because of its tendency to slide into walls, I can't use the on-board tool holder - the tools damage the walls when Connie slides into them. There is also a suction reliever hole under the handle that sucks any airborn dust into the interior of the unit outside the bag. Makes the Hepa bag kind of useless. Weird.

Brad - you are not going to believe how high electricity rates have jumped in Toronto! What used to be a $60 monthly bill is now $90. And that hard-earned money is going to the worst utility in the country. Toronto Hydro is one of the main reasons that the city is so unattractive - the endless, duplicated, bent, poster-plastered, Hydro poles holding up spider-webs of wiring and sky-high transformers blocking your view (why they don't bury the system underground like most modern cities, I don't know)....don't get me started on Toronto Hydro....

Don't tell Connie...but I am thinking of replacing her with a small "up-blowing" Miele or Electrolux Ultrasilencer Green. Shhhhhhhh....

Brian, I haven't been into Toronto now for about a year and a half. Maybe due for another visit sometime . The nasty traffic in/out of town is really what keeps me from going all that much. Last time I was downtown at the Bay near Queen they were carrying those cool Metropolitan vacs and at the time on sale or clearance, can't remember now. Do they still carry them.

Yes Daves a gem so I'm keeping him. Quite understand about the new Connies. If only they'd added another foot to the hose they wouldn't be as prone to banging into your feet and it would probably have solved some of, not all, the wall banging as well. Is your pad carpeted or mostly hard floors with rugs?

Pete - my small bachelor apartment has the standard rental hardwood floors, but I have covered most of them with large thick carpets as I find it makes the place more cozy in winter and it reduces sound and echoing. I also have arch problems in my feet and the carpeting and underpadding make it safer to lounge around in my socks or bare feet. Besides - I need carpeting to play with my vacuums!

But there is linoleum in the hallway, entryway and kitchen, and the bathroom is off-course tiled. So whenever the Constellation is on one of the floors, the dust goes everywhere! The airflow is so strong that it blows up the edges of my carpets and sends the dust sailing underneath!

No more Metropolitans at the Bay - they were selling them at the same time as the Constellations. The Bay is now primarily selling Dysons and Mieles, with a Panasonic and Eureka lightweight here or there.

Let me know whenever you decide to come into town and we can grab a drink or iced coffee together somewhere in the "Village." Chances are we may end up meeting sooner at one of your legendary Ontario mini-meets - would rather get out of the city when the weather is nice anyhow.
