Hey vacuumlanders :) I'm having a little trouble trying to identify an electrolux that my grandmother had when she was little. She described it as a brown-ish colour on steel runners. There was no leather texture on top. She said it also looked similar to a loaf of bread in shape. She cannot however remember if the ends were brown or black, although she did mention that the ends were plastic and that a piece screwed into the back to enable the hose to be used as a blower. She said that the metal body had streaks running from front to back on the top of it, and there were vertical lines running down the middle of the front cover to the bag chamber. If anyone could help me out or if they have a picture of one, it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for all your help,
Daniel

Hey Daniel:

Sounds like it would be a model Z57. They were the delux model from 1953-1957 in Canada. Aside from the model XII that is the only brown machine we had untill the AP280 in 1978

The other option I can think of which is a possibility is the model ZB30 which was produced from 1939-1949 (No machines produced during the war) It had Black ends and a grey body which was ribed the length of the machine.
