Trying to find a Maytag m1200

We sold the last of them at the Factory Outlet Store about three years ago. We blew them out at $150 to get rid of them, but we took the serial number plate off the machine because the company didn't want to warranty them. They lost the right to use the Maytag name, so all the repair parts that said "maytag" on them were scrapped

There's one here - that's the only one I could find online. But I would never pay that much money for a vacuum that was designed to not be repairable. I believe the 5 year warranty is up next year. There is no parts network for it and they don't want people like us to fix them so they make sure to never supply their parts out. Every one of those "premium" vacuums is like that. Simplicity, Riccar, Sebo, Miele, etc. They have no 3rd party parts network. If you buy the vacuum and a bag door breaks or an internal hose duct tears - you're out of luck. It's a waste of money IMO. I couldn't even get Riccar to send me a PDF copy of an owner's manual from their archives - they couldn't be bothered and said it was "too old".
As far as Maytag goes - when my washer's control board would randomly cut out - they refused to repair it until it could be proven it actually stopped working and not just working intermittently. I watched a video on YouTube on how to remove the control board and found the control panel had some soap scum and a bit of rust on it that was causing it to die. Cleaned it up and it's never had a problem now 6 years after doing that. Next, the boot seal went out last year - I was told through the appliance dealer I bought it from that a new (reproduction) part for it would cost $280 and the washer would have to be brought in for repair - no on site service - or I could trade it in for a new model which would include pickup and delivery. I said nope. Went on Amazon and found a used original part for $57, and even though it took me over an hour of faffing about with the dumb retaining spring, I got it all installed and the washer is leak free since November.
As scummy as Dyson is - they at least have a lot of parts out there floating around from everyone and their mother both new and used either from the company's stock or from people that are breaking down burned up models. I have a DC07 and I just bought the entire lower chassis of the vacuum including the motor for $28 (used). I found brand new in wrapper old stock tools for it too for $9. And it's 19 years old. Hypothetically speaking, that means if I would have bought this vacuum for full price in 2001 (I didn't) and still used it today - I would still be able to keep it running and working today.
And with Kirby - their vacuums are designed so that parts from a dozen different models will work together, so you don't even have to have the same model's part. Pretty much all of the G series parts are interchangeable, which comes in handy if one part cant be found for one model, just go to another model line.

I totally get what you’re saying all around, I always wait on a model and by the time something clicks with me it’s usually no longer available. I just remembered reading on here that it was the best of the tandem air machines even though it’s basically like the riccar/simplicity versions.

Oh I don't doubt it! It has good ratings and looks like a good vacuum - it's just for the money you pay, if it breaks beyond a belt or something, that money is gone and you're on your own without being able to just go on eBay or a vacuum site and click and ship parts.
Like dysonman said - they don't honor the warranty anymore and they threw away all the parts (very wasteful, could have made a lot of money selling them on eBay). I wouldn't risk paying $700 for a vacuum that will become a paperweight. There's a M700 on eBay for reasonably cheaper, but you'd still have the same problem.
I only paid $50 for a Eureka FloorRover and I am dealing with the "no parts" clause as well, and that vacuum sold for $170 new. It now has - no joke - a spider web on the handle in my basement from sitting so long waiting to find parts. lol

The R30 series is exactly the same but without the cosmetic features of the Maytag. Check one out at a Riccar dealer and see what you think.
