I had such a wonderful time meeting a fellow collector and friend John Gregory just had to share some of the neat photos of his beautiful shop. John is such a sweetheart and helped me with my vintage Hoover by adding a light, new rebuilt brush roll, and new old stock upper bearing. John has such a wonderful knowledge of the Hoover history and his own story is incredible how he started repairing Hoovers as a young boy and now owes a thriving business being one of the last Hoover Dealers anywhere. Also thank you John for being so kind and gifting me the beautiful Hoover model 28 for my collection I will cherish it always. Fyi If you ever want a good servicing John is your guy he brings any machine back to factory quality.

I had an opportunity to visit John's store several years ago when I was doing a motor tour of the northeast with my sister. We were both enthralled with his collection and stories of repairs. My sister is a twin so we bought each other a birthday gift that was a Hoover cordless stick vac that was remarkable.

If you are ever in the area, do yourself a favor and stop in! John is a wonderful host and a wealth of Hoover information. And his collection is something to behold.

As if Monk had a Hoover store.

I mean this in the very best way.(I watched a few Monk episodes recently.)Clean, neat, orderly, full line of Hoovers and supplies, great historic displays & awards and someone with skill & knowledge!!Beautiful, beautiful store!!!
One item there that we didn't need here this winter.A snow shovel.Did I see a Eureka dust brush??

I think John did a rebuild on the two Hoovers in the above video but he did not get the honest credit for his work and knowledge. I believe they belong to another member who is a frequent poster here and that poster led the readers to believe another person did the work. That is not the case.

We are planning a trip to see John Gregory and his wonderful Vacuum Store this summer Maybe we could put together a mini-meet in Dunmore? I have lots of mutual friends with John and it would be great to see them all.

Tom...........

If you can arrange with John Gregory a mini-meet in Dunmore, I will make a concerted effort to be there. The drive is only about 6/7 hours from where I live and I would love to see you and John again!

I might even bring a few Hoovers to play with!
