Hi, everyone,
This is my first post. I have been keeping my eyes open to buy a Tri-Star CXL or DXL for awhile now. I need a reliable vac to USE and don't have a lot of money. A guy is selling one locally but two things are making me hesitate. The bottom plate on the Turbo powerhead is pretty rusted. The exhaust also is fitted with one of those tuba-like hepa filters. Call me crazy but I love the look of the original metal grill that fit over the exhaust--the one with the red dot in the middle. I've called a few companies that have parts. The bottom plate was given the number CO-1039 and the housing for the filter seems to be the CO-70032. The added cost for replacement would squeeze my budget but then I discovered that the filter housing that goes with that order number is PLASTIC. Yuck. I'll only go there if I must. The parts guy didn't know if the Turbo's bottom plate also was plastic and he said the part was discontinued last year anyway.
H-E-E-E-L-P! Does anyone know where I can get those original parts fairly cheaply? I can wait longer for a complete vac to come up on eBay but I usually can't compete on the bidding. Thanks!
