It's time for the DoubleWhammy, Sammy! This is a working (1940s) Bakelite Zenith radio, and if you guessed: I found it right on top of the Victor Victrola...you just won a cigar! I really shouldn't have turned it on, though, because these types usually have a metal Dielectric Capacitor. What happens is, that the dielectric fluid contained inside of them will begin to dry out with age. When this occurs the capacitor can explode, destroying your transformer and potentially your amp...which will often prove way more expensive for you in time and cost. So, what do you do when you get a nice ole radio....you hade better change the capacitors or BANG!
