OMG

They have 3 kirbys. I wonder if they'll sale them to me. Do you know how to get a hold of there great grand kids so I can buy them. It's really important it's for a friend.

Kidding aside those are some cool pics.

nowadays vacuum dealers aren't as open to accepting trades as they used to-esp with modern bagless vacuums. The dealers I know of no longer take trade ins.So getting vintage vacuums is getting more difficult.

Great pictures !!

1.At one time Metropolitan Vacuum of NY would send a truck to Electrolux branches such this one for trades that they would then stack like firewood in their warehouse and rebuild.
2.Is that a Duster in the Hoover branch window?
3.Electrolux office.
4,5.AirWay.A former AW salesman once told me of knocking on a door after WWII.He tells the lady he is selling AW vacuums. She says"Everybody says they are selling vacuums but no one has any to deliver!"He replys "Lady,I got 9 AirWay vacuums in my car right now."She tells him "Sit in that chair on the porch while I call my friends."He sold all 9 for cash. Can you image this story with these pictures?
6.Filter Queen office??

Photo one, with the stack of model 30's - also has brand new Power Nozzles and Automatic F boxes. This had to be around 1960. You'll note the cords on the PN-1's were long and had the three hose clips.

Love the first pic there - those 10" floor tiles bring back so many memories. AFAIK, noone in my family had a vac until the Olympia One - before that, we were in houses that had a central system! So seeing those metal canisters are neat.
