Well......................Y'all wanted facts and accurac

I saw the 'official announcement that The Vacuum Cleaner Museum IS closing and will cease to exist. The last and final day of operation will be FRIDAY. This is printed on official letterhead. Their 'focus' will now be on their 'brand'. Just thought I'd convey this news to those who'd miss the announcement. I've spent more time on this than ever intended. I'll never get those minutes back.

There's your factual accuracy.
"All gone".

Now we have,as Paul Harvey would say--

--'the rest of the story'.Facts without gossip or speculation. This is looking like good news for Tom and bad news for Tacony and former employees. As above I wished no distress to anyone and if there has been I am sorry.
Thank you for facts that I,and possibly others, would be interested in with no time for research.

Well, Jimmy, May I call you Jimmy?

Thank you for that apology... if it was partly meant for me.
I DO try to always report facts. I hope you realize that now.
There IS more to the story... a few facts are not here. I'M NOT going to be the one to fill in the blanks.
But, there is more than is being public knowledge.
Not my business, not my place.
Other info, facts will be made clear, eventually. But, not by me.

I have neither the time, nor the interest.
But, thanks, Jimmy.

Really

I understand you don't have time. Others who keep trolling this thread looking ftcrumbs seem to have time.
If someone wanted call tacony ask for chief operation officer. Tell him what you have heard and ask off the record what he/she believes will happen. If you have time.
You could solve the mystery I personally don't care much about.
If it's something you need to know do it. If not stop this rambling over dumb ish.
It's like this thread is a zombie keeps coming back with no brains.

Movie

That would be epic. The future of Vacuums in Branson Missouri myth or legend. The untold story nobody wants to know. It would provide an esclusive opinion from a person nobody's heard of talking about nothing anyone cares about.
That is definitely a good movie plot.
Brilliant I say Brilliant.

Ten years was a very good run for the vacuum museum. It was a bit controversial from the business side, since the museum displayed vacuums from competing brands. I was a little surprised that Tom was allowed to display relatively recent models from competitors like Dyson, Kirby, Rainbow, Hyla, Aerus/Lux and others. Most companies would only allow models of their own to be displayed. Congratulations Tom on a good run.

It's truly amazing that the vacuum museum lasted so long. My memory is far from perfect, but I can remember a story on vacuumland Tom told about throwing the Riccar/Simplicity rep out of his vacuum store back in the days when he was enamored with Dysons. The Tacony guy made the mistake of telling Tom that he should sell more of their products instead of what he felt was best for the consumer. I was amazed to hear that he had been hired by Tacony to host a museum. I would have expected someone less knowledgeable that would push Tacony products. While working for Tacony, Tom actually said nice things about other brands - i.e. competitors vacuums. I was amazed when he showed a picture of his partner vacuuming his house with a new Miele upright. Tacony was in a bitter war with Miele, yet Tom had a Miele in his home. I only met Tom once when visiting the museum. I purchased several vacuums, and he always gave good advice. He didn't try to upsell me anything. I wasn't a fan of the tandem vacuums due to their complexity, and he didn't try to push them. When I was looking for a small canister for a gift, he steered me towards the most cost effective option, even thought it was considerably less than the Wonder.
