Hi all! I'm new to this site and have been a collector for years. Thought this would be a great site to get to know some other collectors out there
So last night was trash night around my neck of the woods. My friend and I were about to go out and chill, just to get away from being cooped up all day inside. As we're leaving we start driving up my street when I look over to one of my neighbor's houses and sitting right there on the curb was a Kirby G6. I remembered seeing this Kirby in their garage before, years ago. I definitely wasn't going to pass up a free Kirby. So he stopped and I hopped out real quick running it back to my house to drop it off and we went back out for the night. Later on get back to the house later and I immediately rush the Kirby upstairs to my room to inspect it over. I brought it up and turned on the light, setting it down on my bed for a minute while I opened my window up to get some air into the room. When I got back over to my bed, I plopped down and suddenly all of my giddiness faded into darkness. The bed was soaked all around the base of the G6. So I took the head off and sure enough...disaster! It appears it was ruined from water damage. The motor is completely frozen as if it had been sitting under water for years. I was SOOOOOOO bummed out
I've never had a G6 and I have always wanted one. The bag and handle are still good so I was wondering if I found just the head of the machine for sale on Ebay or Craigslist, what would be a good price for just the head? I imagine this would take more money than it's worth to fix it up...just too far gone on the motor itself. Thanks in advance for any help on this.
Cheers
