Occasionally I've seen posts on here about vacuums found in a trash pile or a dumpster. Well, it finally happened to me! On my way home from the local drugstore today I noticed what appeared to be a Hoover 28 sitting on a trash pile. I drove on by, and the more I thought about it, the more I thought I should go back and pick it up. I'm glad I did! I parked the car and as I walked over to it I saw HOOVER embossed on the hood which told me this is NOT a 28, but a 305!
I quickly grabbed it, put it in the trunk, and proceded to the grocery store. As soon as I got home, I first unloaded the groceries, then my new find, then started checking it out. It has a replacement cord and genuine Hoover replacement bag (50's edition, beige with red printing). Handle is bent, bag has a hole toward the bottom, brush strips and belt need replaced, and the tabs are broken off that the screws go into that secure the hood. Other than that it's in pretty good shape, mostly needing a good cleanup. Runs good and sounds like it should! Haven't taken pics yet, but hopefully will soon and will post them, as well as a couple other recent additions.
