That IS a beautiful ad isn't it.
It's one of my favorites too!
A few years ago I won an eBay bid for one of the stout cardbox cartons that bags ("wrappers" as they were called when first introduced) for the LX came in -- it's a large, heavy-walled cardboard box that is a little larger than the overall size of the bag and then about 5" deep. You can see it in the link below in the photo of the LX Beauty Shot.
Anyway, the listing did not say anything about the box containing anything and I didn't ask. I was happy just to get the box. Well, when it came, inside were four of the original blue bags! The same bags were used for the AE as for the E, LXI and LX.
Did you know that back in that day when the bags were first introduced, they were assembled by hand?! They had a crew of little old ladies who sewed the paper bag on sewing machines, then the rubber membranes were glued onto the innwer surface of the cardboard top and then the top was glued to the bag -- all done by hand!! One of the big advances Electrolux made in the mid 1950s, which is spoken of in some of the old literature I have, was when an automated bag making machine was designed and put into action.
