I was just wondering about the Lewyt in today's P.O.D. It struck me that this Lewyt bore a resemblance to Filter Queen. What capture system did the Lewyt use. Were they bagged, or a filter in the tub type?

I'm not sure about the one in the picture, but I believe the first Lewyts used a cone system that was almost identical to the filter queen arrangement. When they were sued by filter queen, they changed the design to a cloth "dustalator" filter in an odd octagonal shape rather than a cone. A bag was added for dirt capture.

Model 40 and 44 used the cone, 55 and 66 used the bag.
