I found this old treasure at a thrift store today. It looked pretty sad. The hose had come unscrewed from the machine end cuff. Someone had taped it with blue painters tape thinking that the hose had split I guess. It was very dusty, but the inside was nearly spotless. The power nozzle was clogged wth red carpet fuzz. As you see, the it's a replacement plug, but the cord is flawless. She doesn't look too bad after the wipe down. I cleaned up the power nozzle and blew everything out with a leaf blower. I installed a Kirby HEPA bag. It fit very well. The air flow and suction are excellent, and it is super quiet. Overall, I think it was well worth $8.56.
Any information is welcome. I'm thinking it's probably from the late 1970s.
The top cover unscrews to reveal some sort of deflector. Should there be a foam filter under this?
