A buddy of mine has been keeping a lookout for Kirbys, and he gave me a call over the weekend with what he found.

We ended up with quite a bit, and a couple unexpected treasures...

1 Heritage II Legend
3 G4
1 G3
5 Electrolux
1 Kenmore canister
1 Rainbow E-Series 1-speed - near perfect condition with box!
1 Rainbow E2-Series 2-speed - in very good condition!

Total cost... $250!!!

We're keeping the 2-speed Rainbow. The 1-speed is being listed for sale on Craigslist. I'll post a link once it's listed.

Everything else will be added to the to-do list...

Wow, congrats... I don't like those Kirbys (not bad, but too old for my taste), but what a score with the Rainbows, Kenmore canister, and Lux Guardian! Congrats!

We still have to check them all over. The only ones I got done yesterday were the two Rainbows.

The one I really wanted to get from him, he wouldn't sell... Kirby Sentria for $10!!! GRRR hahaha

Still, I can't thank him enough for finding this deal for me.

Jamie, I only like the G5 and later for the G series.... simply aesthetically speaking, but I can see why others would like the older models...

Redge.... what kind of shape is that Kenmore Progressive in? Usually those models have missing power nozzle wheels and broken handle release pedals...

Kenmore

The Kenmore is in near excellent shape, just some scratches, nothing major though. All the attachments look to be unused. I have a soft spot for Kenmore canister vacs! As far as the 2 orange lux's we are debating on weather or not to keep them since they match our intensity!

The duct tape...

Yeah... duct tape. I haven't even looked at it yet to see how bad it really is.

For $10 each, if the only thing I get from these 5 Kirbys is a bunch of parts, I'm still happy with the deal. My buddy plugged them all in, and they do all run.

I still have to get shop setup in the basement since we moved. I have enough Kirbys to get done to keep me busy for a very long time. On top of these, we have probably 6 more that I have to do, and my aunt told me yesterday that my uncle picked up another one for me at his auction for $10. I have no clue what it is, but she said he told her it has accessories with it.

The last $10 Kirby he picked up for me was a Heritage 84 that's all original and pretty rough, but it runs. Plus, it has (I think) all the attachments, including the shampoo system, sander and Turbo (not zip) brush.

He also got a Heritage 2 with the granny nozzle in very good condition for $90. That's a bit high for my taste, but I guess it's worth it for the collection.

As for reconditioning and resale, I prefer G-Series and newer. The Tech Drive is a big selling point for those who like a Kirby, but have trouble pushing & pulling the weight, especially on certain carpet.

Mini meet

We would love to host a mini meet if anyone is interested! We have some machines that were not sure what to do with, so the possibility for trade and sale is in play! We would also like a collectors opinion on some of the vintage ones as well. If you would be interested let me or Ronnie (redgeminipa) know!

@durango159

My buddy ran into a Filter Queen (he thinks) distributor around the Mount Union area who was looking to sell off his trade-ins.

There were probably 15-20 more cheaper vacs that he bought from him as well that we weren't interested in. The guy told him it was about 8 months worth that he had in storage.

Okay...

Call me old school here, but I've not seen anything posted about that old Silverado Electrolux sitting there. If you decide you can live without it and would part with it, let me know. I only have one Silverado and wouldn't mind to add another to the collection!

Great haul by the way! I love running across deals like that, though I have to say that beats anything I've found in a LONG time!!!!

Thanks! As I said, they still need checked over. Mike was having trouble getting the white Electrolux to turn on. He opened and closed the tank, and it worked, but wouldn't turn on again.

We'll post an update once we get to checking them over more.

G3 Cords

There was a rubber cleaner on the market here for Grey and light colour Interior trim of cars that often discolours that I used to use on G3 and other silicone based cords that discoloured, It worked a treat, I haven't bought it in years as most G 3's that we get in now days have a busted cord normally were it goes into the machine so we just replace with a new one. The cord from the ultimate G looks really nice on the G3's The grey ones don't
