To sell or not sell my kenmore power handle canister

This is a tough one for me, I've been told it really rare and that I should not get rid of it but at the same time I'm just not into it anymore and hardly use it. So is it so rare I should just keep it even though I don't use it much, just looking for second opinions basically. I already have a buyer lined up if I decide to sell.

well, after many many times in this situation.....

Here are my thoughts. have had rare machines before, that I have kept, or bought locally on the ONLY principal that they are rare, and I have many that I will never sell because not only are the obscure, but they are treasured as well.


 


My point is, every time I have bought, or found a machine, and kept it ONLY because, it has not brought me any true happiness, and has left a empty aftertaste in my collection. A rare machine is cool, but I found that they are not worth anything to me, unless I am in love with the machine in question in the first place. So if you are not in love with it, and don't find your self overly proud over its presents in your collection, let it go....and let that money find you something that you DO really really want, that makes you bubble with pride, and joy!=)

That's exactly what I've been thinking but I just needed to hear it. The person who I would sell it to says it would basically complete his collection, he is an avid Panasonic and kenmore canister fan.

I would agree with Jason on this. There's no point in collecting a vacuum you don't really like just because it's rare. Let someone else have it who DOES like it & wants it. With one caution - sit on it for a month, & then decide. Give it a LOT of thought, & if you still feel the same way by the time 30 days has passed, then go ahead & sell it. Last thing you want to do is sell it & regret it.

Thanks, yes I have backed out of the deal with the buyer and told him I need more time, he completely understands. It's been close to three weeks now and like every other machine I sell I just forget about them, Im thinking this will be the case with this machine as I haven't even used it but once since I backed out. Knowing that it's going to someone who REALLY wants it makes me happy.

I think if you don't use it much, then in short time you'll essentially forget it was there.  I'd probably go through with the sale and pass it on to someone that seeks the passion in that machine.


 


Upon the sale, keep your eyes out and pick out a "new" collection piece for yourself that suits your interest in style, color, age, uniqueness, etc. 


 


I think we've all hit the same cross road that you have at some point in time with collecting.  We find a machine that is unique and unusual and different from anything else we own.  Then over time we find a similar model or different machine altogether that suits our interests even more and that machine that was really unique at the moment you got it, isn't as unique and special to you five years later or so. 


 


It's all part of the fun of the hobby.  You'll make someone else extremely happy by selling that machine while creating space in your home for a new collection piece that better suits your interests!

Sometimes making someone else very happy in the end is one of the best ways to make up your mind over something. It puts a good feeling inside of you. In the end I'm sure you'll find a machine down the road that you'll appreciate more for your taste.

Glad you made up your mind!!! At least you can say that you tried that machine and it made you happy at one time. But over time all of our collections change!
