To gsheen. Advice on wet Dyson Filter

I washed my DC24 filters and left it for 30 odd hours to dry. I put the filters back and tested the machine as they both appeared to be completely dry. Unfortunately the 'lid' of the cyclone assy was wet and I noticed that droplets were in the tube going down into the motor as well.

Am worried that I have done damage to the machine. I took the cyclone assy off and run the machine for a minute without anything on to clear it through and it was fine. I will let it dry out all over. The motor sounded fine. Is it likely that the motor will get badly damaged by a few droplets? I can only imagine rust building up on it :-( Have to use my Sebo Felix until the Dyson has completely dried.

this exactly the same thing has happened to my dc04 silver and lime, the filters were dry well felt like it and it was left for 24 hours or more approx used it then that same thing happened and i just wiped the water off the dyson with a dry tissue and left the dc04 running for a few minutes with the bin and cyclone on it was all fine and nothing happened till this day, a few weeks back i took it apart to clean it and the motor had no rust

I use the following method to wash and dry the filters:

warm water and biological soap powder, wash in the sink, thoroughly rinse, put in washing machine on full spin cycle only.

Then, ONLY for the separate foam pre-filter: squeeze between sheets of kitchen roll, stand on it if necessary.

Then put the filters in the airing cupboard or on the radiator.

And I know Dyson says "Don't use detergent", but water alone doesn't get rid of dirt or bad smells.

I like them thoroughly clean so they go in the washer with biological washing powder and an extra rinse. (low temp quick ish cycle) there are nearly dry and look as new when you take them out.

I have done this with the pleated exhaust filters too. But don't imagine it's much good for them as I'm thinking it will force water through the filter. (my assumption from the dyson guide is that you on rinse and tap one side of the filter, rather than flushing it through as dirt is collected on the outside of it)

I may be wrong there, I'm sure no one will loose any sleep of I am ;o)
