To start the baking! For me anyway. Finally cool enough to not have to run the a/c and really get free heat in the home! My local favorites, Chocolate Chip/Walnut/Oatmeal.Before/ After

Not much chance of that! I honestly don't eat many, they are often made, so always being there, I guess no treat now? They sure give away fast.

Oh my, I'm salivating just looking at those David!!

I think I may have to make some home-bakes myself soon as I haven't been near the oven in almost a month.

Store Display

While we're on the topic of Christmas, I figured I would post a picture of the christmas display of my store. We've had a lot of walk-in traffic because of it and I'm quite proud of it...

And our Christmas tree. There is actually a story behind these purple ornaments. Purple was my grandma's favorite color and in her living room, she had a 8 foot wide picture window. She had a absolutely huge tree every year and had it decked out in these purple ornaments. She was always a big supporter of me and my collection so when we took over the store, we figured this would be a great way to keep a piece of her around. We always get a ton of compliments on it from both men and women.

Ok, digging in the garage for the start of decor, Christmas mats are now out, dug out the second Kitchenaid stand mixer, its about to get messy folks!!

window display

Windows and tree look great!!(We have a downtown store with several silver trees and one is all purple.)You have sort of combined the best of modern products with the skill and artistry of windows that were common in downtowns from at least 1900-1950s.Even ten cent items at the 5 & 10 had elaborate displays. There were magazines that offered information and ideas. No stick on letters back then. One magazine even showed plans of a mechanical arm that would move an upright back and forth. Are you downtown or shopping center?-Happy Holiday Hoovering or Mieleing or whatever.
