Greetings to everyone reading this. Hi, Rich here from Bethany CT. The time has come in my life to begin downsizing and move from my home to smaller more manageable housing. I obviously cannot throw my collection out (I know, everyone reading this must be gasping) but was wondering if there is a museum or someplace where I could donate my collection. It is a small collection of Electrolux's, Kirby's, Hoover, 1 Atlas. Any suggestions would be most helpful. I will post some photo's at a later date but just trying to get some idea as to which direction to go. Thanks all for your help.
Sincerely,
Rich Clement

Hi Rich:
A few months ago, a fellow collector named Eric Skau in New York was faced with a similar situation. He had a large and eclectic collection of vacuums. Eric was downsizing and needed a home for his machines. He contacted me about the Vacuum Museum here in Rolla, MO and donated his collection. It's now on permanent display along with the other 400 cleaners, all arranged by their time in history. We give tours throughout the year to the public, for free, and they just love it. We have bus tours as well as the average member of the public who just stops in and wants to see them. If you send me an email, I can tell you more about it. Email address is in my vacuumland profile.

It was hard

Rich,
As hard as it was/is, you will feel a relief. My best friend took the road trip with me. I am SO HAPPY that my collection now lives within the Mid Missouri Vacuum Museum. I was embraced and reassured as soon as I pulled in. There were people there to greet us and help off load. Trust me, I'm still sad at times and my house is SO EMPTY but, just knowing that Tom and Donny will always do the right thing. I have gained cherished friends. My move will be easy to the Sunshine State!
