People on the reviews seem to love it. It does look pretty cool. I wonder if the hepa is washable? The dust cup is washable. That's always a good thing. I noticed on one of the reviews a person stated that the brush roll leaves black marks on their carpet; that it is made from some sort of rubberized material that heats up and leaves a black residue on the carpet. I also thought it was cool that Eureka responded to their review asking for more info on that problem.

I got rid of my Sebo X1 because i thought it was leaving black marks on my cream bedroom carpet. The carpet was in the flat when we moved in and is quite old, the underlay has disintegrated and the combination of the Sebo's brush roll and the suction was pulling the dust from the underlay through the carpet thus creating the black marks. I was pretty annoyed when I realised this as I really liked my Sebo and gave it away needlessly.

So perhaps the reviewer has worn underlay.

That makes sense. A shame you gave away your Sebo before you realized it wasn't the Sebo, but the underlay and the Sebo was sort of indirectly causing black marks.

Yea, it was a shame about the Sebo, My Nimble is even worse at pulling marks on the carpet....am saving for new carpets as they are shot.

Suction Seal

It is yet another gimic to get people to buy a new vacuum. Because it is supposed to work better than earier models or the competitor. We have been seeing this regularly in every aspect of how a vacuum handels dust, dirt and animal hair.

From bag to bagless, hepa filters and the aggitator to groom the carpet and disloge the embeded soil. Some design changes were an improvement to the overall perfomance but most are just another gimic to sell vacuums.

Some of the vacuums out there were set up so that they didn't "snow plow" larger objects on the floor Thus reducing clean perfomance where it is needed the most. On the floor. Now We need suction seal to clean better. Had the machine been set up in the first place to clean like they should we wouldn't need a machine touted to have "suction seal"

Glad I'm not a sucker for all these sales ploys. One could needlessly spend thousands of dollars foolishly.

Its a good vauum , very nice and well worth the price.

As for black marks , another cause is dirty carpets , the brushes pick up the dirt grease and grime in a dirty carpet and when you vacuum a light colour carpet it leaves marks. No need to get rid of the vacuum though, just wash the brush roll and soul plate.

Agreed. But that doesn't take away from the fact that it's a cool looking user friendly cheaper vacuum that is getting glowing reviews

I prefer true high end machines. They have a proven track record and aren't redesigned every other day to get my attention.

If you like it I'm ok with that. I just stated a fact that it was yet another gimick. No differnt than any other company. It just that I'm not that easily sucked in by hype and glitz. I purchase and or use commercial cleaning equipment every day.

Kirby and Rainbow both tried to convice me that the latest machine they had was better than my current machine. They couldn't even get enough dust to show on the filters. And Kirby failed with the First G model and then the Sentria when that one came out. Once again couldn't even get enough dust to show on the dirt meter filter. My Heritage II cleans just as well. Guess which vacuum I'm still using. Think about the money I have saved over the past 24 years. Can you say that about the over priced kiddie toys on the market today????? No doubt I will get flamed for my oppion on this but that is ok. Im not one bit sorry with my purchase, it has served me well.
