I ordered the Rainmate to hopefully use as a humidifier and add some fragrance. I did not buy the Rainmate for their “air purifier,” I have a descent Filter Queen Defender. I’ve thrown every humidifier away that I’ve ever had, as they usually grow mildew even after cleaning as throughly as possible. Does the Rainmate adequately humidify a bedroom? We do not have hard water but it is not the best water, so I plan on only using distilled water. I think the Rainmate will be easier to keep clean as most of the main areas are accessible. Any other tips from fellow Rainmate users?

I definitely think distilled water is worth it. I have exclusively used distilled water in my Jiffy clothes steamer, I have not seen a spot of anything. Sometimes distilled water is difficult to find in my area, sometime it takes 4 stores to find some.

Distilled water is hard to get everwhere because all the old peoples oxygen cpap usage.
They do sell water diatillers they start at around $100.
I use them in my rainmate and i don't get buildup.
If ypu order fragrances from rainvac they're descently priced. They have quite soothing smells.
