This Year's Florida Vacuums

As some of you may know, every year I go to Florida for Spring Break and I always get a vacuum (or two) from the local flea market. I have been getting a vacuum from the same lady that runs a vacuum store in the flea market for 7 years now. This year I got a Dirt Devil Classic for $20. It is great condition and runs quite nicely. Unfortunately I won't be getting it until my grandparents come home from Florida in June.

I also got a nice little Eureka canister from another vender. The guy was extremely nice and was telling me how he always gets old vacuums in. He was pretty fascinated by my collection. I ended up getting it for $10, which I think is a great price, considering I have been wanted one of these to use around the house. I brought my best friend with me on vacation and he insisted on buying it for me, so it's pretty special to me now. It's in great condition and has no scuffs, just the attachments need a good scrubbing. It even came with quite a few bags! I'll be using this a lot for all the jobs that I don't like to use the Dyson for. Luckily, I was able to fit this one in a suitcase and bring it home on the plane!

Nice Eureka, Chase! That's a 1980's version of the classic boxy Princess from the late 1960's. Takes Style "H" bags.

You should see about finding a nice white Eureka bare floor brush with attached elbow neck - you've got room to store it in the empty slot in the middle of the top-side ToolPak.

Was the floor brush you mentioned originally included with these when new? I have always found that the floor tool that all of mine have had (the floor tool pictured) is terrible on bare floors. I always feel like I'm scratching up the floors when I use it! I have had 4 of these, including this one, I now have 2, and none of them have came with a separate brush. I usually just store the floor tool on the empty slot when I'm not using it.

Chase.....I don't know if the bare floor brush would have been included with the vac in the stores. But you should be able to find a nice cleanable vintage version, or maybe "New Old Stock" in a box somewhere. Unless a carpet nozzle has some sort of wheels or rollers, they really can scratch bare floors even if the vacmaker markets the attachment as a "combination rug and floor tool." I bet you someone here at vacland has a nice white bare floor brush to fit your ToolPak.

It's SOOOOOO great to see the chrome wands with that vac! Much more sturdy to use than the plastic ones Eureka sometimes provided!

Thanks! I just used some Mother's and a rag! It works wonders on almost anything!And I just didn't like having videos on YouTube. I got annoyed with a lot of people and I didn't have time for it. Anyways, we go and stay with my grandparents in Naples. It's on the Southwestern coast.

Yeah, I understand.... I get annoyed when people see my videos and then ask me to give them my vacuums.... I wouldn't have gotten them if I didn't want the silly things.... people seem to think that because I post videos on youtube, they can pick through my collection and decide what they want and I'll just give it to them.... that's not why I make videos! It's usually kids that don't have the means to get their own machines, but still

I'd never have thought to use mothers on a painted surface.... I'd have used car wax.... that's great that it worked so well!

Naples huh? Too bad it's not Orlando or we could have set up a mini-meet!

I never ended up getting one, but I did have a machine that used the same power nozzle. And when I said Windtunnel power nozzle, I was referring to a completely different machine and power nozzle.
