This weekend's estate sale finds!

Yes, yes, yes...

I found the EXACT same Eureka at 2 different sales in 2 very different parts of the city, both in very nice condition... 2 weeks in a row. Go figure. I'll have to check the serial numbers and see how far apart they are.

Sunbeam Dual-Deluxe!

I found this with no hose, sitting in the basement under a table with no price on it. So the guy writing up tickets said "How 'bout 2 bucks?" I agreed. Then I went upstairs and sniffed out the Eureka upright. Upon digging deeper into the closet, I found a bag with the Sunbeam tools in it. It wasn't until I got in the car that I realized it was an actual Sunbeam accessory!

The best find!

Spotted in the corner of a garage!
Missing all but the hose and crevice tool. But it had the wands still wrapped in their original wax paper... Go figure.

Great Finds, Fred!

And the Lewyt looks immaculate! Too bad it didn't have the tools with it, but you did get the box and bags in the original package, and the hose looks like brand new.
The Sunbeam looks like it should clean up nicely, and even though the hose is missing, I see the machine end connector is connected to the vac, so it shouldn't be too hard to make a replacement.
Congrats on the great finds,
Jeff

OMG Fred, that Lewyt is absolutely heart-stopping!!! WOWWWWW!!!!!

(Did I ever tell you how much I like you? hahahahaha)

Fred and Rob are on a roll again! Nice, I like the sunbeam and its Kenmore like floor tool =)
Its funny you should find the same vacuum, I mean I have had twins before but not at the same time. Not even the same decade lol.
Nice Job guys.

Wow Fred!

That Lewyt is appliance porn! Wouldn't you love to know the story behind why it sat untouched? I bet hubby brought it home, thinking it was a great anniversary gift, and started World War III. Wifey, out of spite, let it sit in the basement for 50+ years, until she went on to her greater reward.....

If you go out next week and come home with the same model Eureka, we're callin' the cops!

Frankly, I think you guys should be forced to move....

How is it Minneapolis became the great estate/thrift store Mecca?

OK, perhaps moving is too harsh. Sorry....

How 'bout renting the place out occasionally?

Rick

Al,

Not sure, but every Sunbeam I have ever used had great air flow. I have the same model Fred is showing us here along with a Sunbeam Challengar, both are great vacuums. Good tools, built well, tend to be on the loud side, but other than that they would both suck the paint off the walls.
