It has become a sad day, my favorite bagless of all time has just died. I never even got to use it much. I decided to pull it out today, and sweep the bedroom woth it. In a minute or two of running, it started sounding funny, and in the matter of seconds I smell smoke and it starts coming out of the motor housing. As far as I could tell there were no clogs, I had washed the filter after the last time I used it, so it looks like it was just its time to go. I barely ever got to use it, which sucks because I put money into a brush roll and belt for this, cleaned it inside and out, and wanted one of these for years! Not to mention I paod more for this than I normally like to for my sweepers, but it was a bit fo a dream one for me. Rest in peace, Luv200R.
This literally just happened, my LG Kompressor just died.

Thanks for the info. I can get to the motor easily enough, actually pretty easy to swap. Problem is I pretty sure the reason why it failed is I used capture powder with it before in the past. At the time I didn't know as much about capture, and the package said you can use it with any sweeper just fine. It was a pain just to get as much out of the system as I had been able to do. Opening up the motor compartment there was fine powder all over, so I'm sure that was its downfall. I would replace the motor myself, being as simple as it is, but it's almost impossible to get all the powder out of the system, so I'm afraid it will just blow another one if I put one in it.

How fine of a powder is that Capture stuff? I have been thinking of buying the Oreck brand dry carpet cleaner, but I tend to not like the carpet cleaners if the powder is very fine due to the issue that happened with your LG.

On the other hand, I love their Crystal Aroma II carpet freshener. It works very well and is not a powder.

Is about as fine as Arm & Hammer Carpet Fresh and products like it, just less coarse. The Oreck powder is actually just Capture wrapped up in their branding and therefore more expensive. Best way to use it would be with a vacuum that cleans well with HEPA bags. Bonus if it's something like a Kirby that's direct air with it's motor sealed off from the dirt.

I dont know anything about this model but I will give a shot in the dark... Since it is broke, any attempt to fix is better than none.
If possible, completely disassemble the motor and blow out with compressed air. Check the commutator. My WAG is that the fine powder got between the commutator and the brushes, causing higher resistance, more sparking, and of course, smoke from sparks and burning powder. The powder might be embedded in both places now. The comm may be able to be cleaned well (or sanded with 1000 or higher grit) and the brushes lightly sanded if new ones are not available.

And if per chance you can't/don't fix it, might the hose fit my Sears bagless that I'm told was made by LG? Forgive me, I don't mean to sound like a vulture, circling the wounded, but I am a bit crazed trying to find a hose for my old machine. Thanks!
