I was out with the wife today, out doing some thrifting of course, and there sits this lovely light blue concept 1. Got it home, and boy howdy was it as clogged as it can possibly be. I mean the mass was the entire length of the air inlet, and hard. I had to use a screw driver to get the crud out. Amazingly enough, the motor sounds good. The brushroll has seen better days, but after a little pull-apart, it works fine. I love the color, just adorable with that shade of blue (although my lighting gives it a green twist).

Is it just me or is every concept out in the wild clogged beyond all belief?

Yes,at one time the vac places here got PLENTY of those brought in to be unclogged-the sharp turn in its intake airpath is kind of a downfall of this machine.Have a couple of these-unclogged ones that weren't reclaimed by their owners. The older Hoover designs were better. Now I don't see these brought in anymore.

Very nice Concept, I love them and have darn near every model (missing like 3 from 30)
This model was the very last of the non self propelled models. I believe it arrived in 1987 with vinyl bag and then 88 went to a cloth bag until it's discontinuation. Also I believe this was the first Concept to feature the new "power surge" switch.

Thanks for the info about the concepts. Kirbyvertibles that is a wild collection of concepts! Excellent work on tracking that many down!
