A couple months ago I went to a new flea market at deerfield circle and I found my first Hoover portable, a model 2200, so I bought it for $5. Yesterday I went to the flea market again and found another model 2200 in the same spot as the other one I found just two months ago!, odd huh? bought it for $5 since it had the floor tool. Are these models common?...Don't know much about them except that they were the second model after the first portable and dates back to 1964, and that the colors are Canton red and off white. What are the chances? And in the exact same spot?

hmm...

I notice a slight difference in design, I guess one might be earlier then the other, or maybe its just me.

I like

that color combo. The dark brown base and yellow lid was common here, Id like to find a blue one or one like yours. My dad threw mie out some years ago,He did alot of that when I was away from home =~

Well, you know not to go away then don't you ;-)

i really like the colors of my Portable. It is a Sunflower Yellow, with a brown design on the hood. And the bottom is a very light brown. Almost a combo between tan and gray

I know Karl and Alan, Ive learned to stay home n pitch his stff.j/k. I do want another some day in the same beautful color as Travis' or blue. There was a blue one on the bay a while back but it was 125 plus shipping I just couldnt justify spending that,it was used even.

I don't remember if the Portable I found had the cord winder or not, just that it was red and beige. It also seems like a dear friend of mine had a Portable also. After he passed, hopefully it went to a thrift store. Sister dumpstered a lot of his things, including family snapshots. Most were good things, she and thrift organizations only wanted just so much. I wasn't collecting vacs at the time.

I went to a restore a few weeks ago and found the first portable (forget the model), I passed it up since it was in rough shape and was missing some tools, I should of got it :/
