This is my Golden Anniversary which is up next for the makeover. It's waiting because I wanted to get the Compact done first....

The underside for those who may not think it's real....

This is an actual model 65 Golden Anniversary Convertible. I found it in a vac shop about to close in Lansing around 2000. the guy was old, and gave it to me because I used to go in and talk to him about shop things.

I never saw it until he was about to close down tho... it was hidden behind a nasty pile o trade ins that were not at all nice or salvageable... When I saw it I took in a breath and casually asked him about it. He was like..go and take it. It will get a good home with you... well I never have had it out much it's just been in a box at the parents house for the last 7 years...

I think with Hoover's 100th coming up..It's time to give it the spa treatment it' deserves...

Impressive!

That is a beautiful vacuum! Would look great together with an Electrolux Golden Jubilee. I love that gold bag and the badge.

that makes 4

That we know of to still exist. Myself, Fred S. and Tom Anderson also have them.

There were 20,000 of those made for the 50th anniversary, they were never sold, but given away as prizes and premiums. I am hoping there are still a few more around to be rescued.

That's a beautiful cleaner, and with the original gold vinyl bag no less. I'd give my right eye to have one of those!

So it being a Golden Anniversary model would make it a 1958

yes...
They were produced in 4 batches of 5000 each in 1958, and serial numbered in with the regular model 65's. I think the serial on mine is A190 something...
I'll look when I get home tonight

Is the shiny gold bag original to the cleaner?

Mine and Tom Anderson's bags are both white with gold lettering, and gold flecks sort-if woven into the bag.

Well Fred,

I'm not sure.

When the machine was gifted to me so many years ago, this is how it came to me. I remember that Toms had that whitish pink color bag, with gold lettering. This possibly could have been resprayed by the guy who had it before me...who knows.

I have also seen yours so it's possible I have the correct style, yet incorrect bag here. It still looks okay with it tho...

It's going to be coming back next week with me for the spa treatment I just gave the Compact. And when I get my camera back from being borrowed by my folks for their trip, I will take some more pictures of other things that I have....

Thanks Again...

Chad
