I think

Stores liquidated these for cheap (something like $80) after fantom went bankrupt. I would say that it is worth AT MOST $200, to a collector that REALLY, REALLY wants it!

That's really funny

At the moment there are four watchers, and I'd be surprised if they're not all people that are just curiouse to see if it sells.

WHAT???!!2Grand for that peice of junk??and no attachments no less. These things spewed dust-esp if their filters weren't cleaned-and their motors would blow.At one time you could get some with blown motors out of vac shop dumpsters for FREE if you wanted one of these that badly.I beleive this is one of their last models and it got a BAD rap.

When things like that appear at those prices, I believe the person who is 'selling' it, listed it just to show off. There are a number of young people who are into Fantom vacuums, and perhaps this seller thinks they'll empty their piggy banks, and beg Mom to mortgage the house so they can get a "wildcat". While I used to think the Regina Housekeeper was the worst vacuum ever made, the Wildcat really takes that honor. There was no way for the consumer to clean the brush roller or even get into the brush area. They tipped over all the time, falling backwards, and breaking the handle. I remember a Wildcat purchased by a salon, back when I had my shop and I was a Fantom warranty center. They didn't have it a week before it was in for service. Within three weeks, it was dead, broken, and destroyed. I sold them a commercial Riccar and remember the joy I felt taking the sledge hammer to the Wildcat as I threw it into the dumpster.

"no way--to clean the brush roller"

Once again Tom knows of what he speaks.A nice vac to look at.An interesting vac.But a vac that can not handle hair, thread, strings, fishing line in the real world.

I think Dysonman1's description sums it up--The Fantom Wildcat was a vacuum that really JUNKED ITSELF!!Non serveceable, tipped over, fell backward,so on-no wonder why so many ended up in dumpsters-besides the sledgehammer I would like to hang around and watch as the dumpster is emptied in the truck-esp a RL truck-you get a super veiw of the crunching! The trucks packer will turn the Wildcat into colorful plastic schrapnel! If its a FL truck-just stand by it and listen as the driver engages the trucks's compactor after dumping the dumpster load into the trucks hopper.I listened to some plastivacs getting it in a stationary compactor-the crunching!Plastivac Eurekas.

the best part about this was the fact that when I emailed the seller about the obscene price and that it was also incomplete I was told in the reply that if it were complete he would be asking for 4 grand for it and that he has been asked by "several people" for these machines and that if they "really wanted it" they would pay for it. oh not to mention the bag chamber is "a bit loose" apparently someone needs to be a little more educated on these. I have had several opportunities to grab a few of these myself for the cost of NOTHING! and seeing other replies to this thread it seems as if it would not have even been worth the time.

I think I know who this guy is......

I'm not going to say who I think it is, considering the risk of causing trouble, which I DO NOT want to do. I'll say that this guy on ebay, and
somebody else seem to have ALOT in common...

If you zoom in on the background you can see a Rainbow E ( I am not that clued up on Rainbows) and another modern upright in the doorway, possibly another one too

And now, for some reason the SAME vacuum is $2800

Nothing extra, the same vacuum, still missing the tools. You COULD buy it for $5500! I would be broke, and even after selling all my vacuums, I still wouldn't have $5500 total. What is he thinking? It's worth MORE because it didn't sell?

I realized the other day that this seller is a member here and since he realizes that he has gained some attention he possibly thought that it would be "funny" to try and gain some more.

hate to say it but it is kinda sad really. if you have been reading this thread maybe you should gain some info out of it.

your shitting me

Now he relisted it trying to get $5500 what a idiot "I have worked with fantom vacuums for 3 years" yea right like your going to fool anyone by saying that that is worth at the most 95-$100
