The underside...

I love that finish. The last vac i knew to use it was the low line Royal commercial. Ben, if your reading this, fill us in on those Royals please. I have also seen the finish used on the valve cover of Maserati engines...except in black of course.
To think, GE used to make quality products like this instead of the dreck we've grown accustomed to.

I didn't find it...

per se...it's on evry vac collectors favorite website, see link.
I don't even like hand vacs or GE's really. I don't even like vacs this old actually. But after seeing this i now want in my collection a grown up (read full size) version of this era GE... with those amazing bag graphics, if such a vacuum exists.

GE Vacuum

There's this exact same vacuum on Etsy. They're selling it for $38.00 + $40.00 shipping. I think shipping is outrageous! I just got a little Westy that looks the same and shipping was only like $15.00! I don't think the sellers need to make a $25.00 profit for putting this vacuum in a box. Just saying. If it wasn't for the steep shipping, I would have most definitely added this little guy to my collection! :) -Michelle

Have one sort of like this-mine doesn't have the Hammertone Brown paint job finish-just the natural polished metal-and mine doesn't have a rollerbrush-straight suction.A coworker at the site gave it to me-he had a story about the vacuum-His father used to work for GE and his family had all GE appliances. The man went on to say he used the vacuum while he was a child to pick up a nest of wasps in their basement! And he went to say it worked well for that job-he dumpted out the dead wasps from the GE logo bag.Bet they were chopped up wasps at that!

Way to go sitop...

I'm glad some on here snapped it up. I was tempted but i keep opening up new territory of interest with these old and new vacuums and i'm running out of time and space to handle it all. That said, if i saw this at a yard sale it would no doubt go home with me...

.
And there it is, the hand vacs big brother, nice!
Somewhat pricey with shipping, if it was local I'd jump.
This vintage of vacuum is generally out of my area of interest, but this one just calls to me.
