So here is what is going on. I know back in June, I mentioned how I wanted a Hoover Dial a Matic. When I was about to buy it, I found out someone else bought it before me. Anyways, I decided to wait until the Fall Semester which is now to do my final vacuum replacement. I don't want a vintage vacuum anymore, not because I am getting tired of them, but because they do not have good suction as modern day commercial vacuums. I am not at all into household vacuums because those are horrible. I am into vintage and commercial vacuums. Anyways, here are some updates:

-I am selling my Hoover Convertible for cheap on ebay, which will be replaced with a modern day brand new commercial vacuum.

-I have sold my old Aldens hand vacuum already to someone else.

-I am still trying to sell my Turquoise Ward Hand Vacuum.

-I am having trouble picking to buy a Sanitaire SC899 or a Bissell BG 102.

Before I get into talking about Sanitaire and Bissell, the reason I am thinning my collection is because as I have said, I have too many hand vacuums and need to get rid of some. I also am only able to have 4 upright vacuums because of the lack of space. Now into choosing between Sanitaire and Bissell.

First and most foremost, I do NOT want to buy a vacuum brand new that has this kind of motor:

I want a machine that has this kind of motor and sounds like this:

Would the Sanitaire SC899 and Bissell BG 102 both have this kind of motor? Also, would you go with Sanitaire or Bissell?

Thank you

All current Sanitaire uprights will have the new style motor. Not so sure about the Bissell, as it's not made by Sanitaire, but likely by the Chinese company known as 'Perfect'.

HOWEVER, if you want the REAL Sanitaire sounding motor, I am almost positive that the machines Sanitaire private labels for Nilfisk-Advance use the original pancake style motor.

There are several sources online where you can purchase one of these Advance ReliaVac models. They come in 12" no headlight with shakeout bag, 12" no headlight with dust cup assembly, 12" WITH headlight, shakeout bag, Quick Kleen fan chamber, and 16" WITH headlight, shakeout bag, and Quick Kleen fan chamber.

If you would rather do an in person purchase, there are MANY janitorial supply companies that deal with Advance products.

I was told that Perfect Vacuums are bad quality. I kind of want a Bissell, but then again, maybe I'll find another commercial vacuum that has the motor I like. I think I am leaning more towards a Bissell. I remember the cleaning lady at my old high school had a Perfect and she loved using it. It sucks up very well and even has a magnet to pick up any metals.

I came to thinking about it. We all know how poorly made Chinese products are. I think I will look for the Sanitaire I like. I don't want to buy a vacuum that breaks down after a few months.
