This Rexair dealer is smart to be doing this....
I don't know about most of the members on here, but I wouldn't want a door-to-door salesman coming into my house to sell me ANYTHING! I have heard too many stories about high-pressure sales tactics, lying to get sales, crimes being committed after the sale, salesmen sleeping with the clients in order to get a sale, & other sleazy tactics to get a sale from a customer. And I have also heard that the background of some of these salesmen is "questionable" to say the least.
A couple cases in point: 1. In my area, there was a woman who literally had to call the police & have a Filter Queen DTD salesman arrested when he REFUSED to leave her home, & apparently assaulted her while in her home.
2. A friend of mine in Sault Ste Marie, Ontario, had a DTD salesmen come to his home to sell Miracle Mate vacuum cleaners. When the salesman tried to get him to buy, he told the salesmen they already had an older model Miracle Mate. Of course, it still kept up, with the salesmen explaining the new model had better features, etc. Well, the salesmen winds up taking his vacuum to his car & tries to bring in a new model....when my friend says to bring his back in & to leave & they're not getting a sale, he brings in a broken powerhead with the vac that wasn't theirs, & leaves.
3. I personally had a Filter Queen salesmen come to my home a few years back, mainly because I wanted the free gift. At the time, I had just bought a new Fantom Cyclone XT 2 weeks prior to this. Within the first 1/2 hour of him being there, he starts to claim the Filter Queen is Dual Cyclonic, so of course I caught him in a lie. I went on to prove by using carpet freshener that he was lying, & kicked him out of the house, with vacuum in hand.
In the times we live in, especially when a vacuum can be had so easily by walking into a store or Ebay, these DTD distributors realize they have to compete to keep someone from buying a Rainbow elsewhere. I feel there will come a time close in the future, that many DTD brands will take the same route Aerus took, & open stores as well as have DTD salesmen. It's only a matter of time, if they want to stay in business & be competitive.
