Hi John,

Great photos, and as always, it's great to see your Hoover lined "Stairway to Heaven."Could you tell me about the LARGE Hoover I've been seeing here in the last week or so. Curious to know it's history, does it function and was it on loan from "The Vault" or a collector? More than one? Thanks, Billy

The Hoover Co made

several "giant" cleaners over the years. The one we had at the convention started out as a model 26. They changed them over time. They were sent o home shows, international displays, etc. They were housed in a warehouse in Ohio. Whirlpool or Maytag got rid of them. Mike Pletcher brought 2 to Hoover's 100th birthday convention. They have not seen daylight since. I asked to borrow one for our convention. They were never in the "vault".
Thanks, again, Michael.

Thanks for the info!

Listening to the motor wind up reminded me of hearing the noon whistle that blew every day at noon. Actually was a siren that wound up and down. Remember those anyone?

I was so glad I was able to add a few special things to this

event.  The Giant Hoover, 2 0s, the Hoover balloon,  the garden party ,a  trip to a local museum, a trip to a non-Hoover vac shop,  dinner at one of the best Italian restaurants.

There was no raffle, etc. But, we were all together,  we met some nice new folks, had no rain, etc.

Thanks, again, to everyone who helped make all of this happen .

It was great!

Hard to believe a week has already passed, it was fantastic seeing everyone! Plus seeing the giant hoover again was amazing (last time was 2008 for Hoover's 100th).

Visiting John and and Joe's homes was a joy. Good food, good friends, and many vacuum cleaners.

I'm really looking forward to Santa Fe next year!
