Here's a photo of what my mother calls the "Vacuum Cleaner Parking Lot", with a newly refurbished addition--a Model XXX, in which I've just installed a new motor (and it now purrs like a 'lil kitty cat).

nice LUX collection! The real star though is the G....for so many reasons, LOL. Yeah I know....highly subjective, but I always plug the G.

The Electrolux Model G vacuum cleaner is really beyond words to describe how lovely it is. It's a breathtaking machine...it's so whisper-quiet when running, it has such powerful suction, it has a great aesthetic and is easy on the eyes--it's just an overall delight to use. As far as canister vacuums are concerned, I'd have to say that the Lux G is the "quintessential" canister vac. While the PN-1 that ran concurrently with the G is of questionable reliability (considering that the non-telescoping sheath of the PN-1 was prone to cracking EVEN WHEN NEW and the PN motor wasn't as good as the motor in the "improved" PN-2), the G, in my opinion, is one of the machines that any Electrolux collector worth his salt SHOULD own. =)

Absolutely.....

Brian. And yes, the PN-1, especially the early, plastic non-telescoping model was pretty fragile. But they got better and I run one of the last PN-1's from a early 1205 set...in the blue/turquoise color. However, run a PN from an 80's Diamond J and it's stair companion Sidekick and you really see how far the PN's progressed. You can always run a PN-2 from a G too, if need be.


 


The G was something old, something new..literally. Not really a transitional model like the 1205, but a star all on its own. Good engineering, good execution, simple, elegant and excellent longevity. That Jetson turquoise isn't too hard on the eyes either.

 


I love the OM as well...soooooo 60's! I think June Cleaver ran one in her fancy skirts....had to!

Great video enjoyed it very much.  I hate to say this but I remember those machines very well....God I am getting old....Love to see a video of the 1205 (s) when time will permit.

The model 30's have such a distinctive sound in the motors. My grandmothers always sounded so good! Quiet, great suction, I can see it now! I bought one of those along time ago and it runs great.  You have a great treasure trove there! Love the model G!

We're going to have one of those pretty soon full of Kirbys, LOL.

So far we have:
512 - still trying to get some stuff before I start on this one
Heritage II - really rough
G3 - mostly finished as of yesterday. Still have a few things to pick up to finish it.
G4 80th Anniversary - Mostly needs cleaned up
G5 - needs a couple of things before I do this one, then being sold.
G6 2001 - mostly done.
Ultimate G Diamond - working on this one soon then it's going to be sold.

Getting a very nice Classic III with everything tomorrow and another Diamond on Sunday. We're probably going to have another G4 within a month.

I still have to get pictures of the others. I'll be creating an album soon with our collection.

Mike and my cousin & her husband spent the day cleaning out our shed to turn it into my workshop. I can't wait to have everything done in there. I have a lot of Kirby work to get done!
