a matching Hoover laundry set, various kitchen appliances, giveaways, sale items, prizes, etc. All of the things on my end of this will be HOOVER. Except for the Oreck portable, Electrolux gold anniversary polisher/shampooer, and 2 Kirbys.

we're focusing on all things 'Pennsylvania"

I'm even working on getting all of the snacks that are made here in PA. For example; Hershey chocolate (Hershey, PA is not too far from me), potato chips made here in PA, etc. Snacks will be served in nice, vintage bowls.

We're gathering items from the T.V. show, "The Office', and are working on a possible tour of the Anthracite Museum right here in Scranton.
People are telling me about vintage displays they are planning in the meeting room.
We're actually utilizing 2 meeting rooms: one for sale, raffle items and refreshments (hospitality), and the other for meetings, contests, etc.

I'm trying to get the

carpenter/electrician to do as much as possible in my 'gallery'. What doesn't get done just doesn't.
Eventually, though, it will be perfect.

Gottahaveahoove, yes to the Anthracite Museum

I'm not a VCCC member at this time (I was, long ago) but I want to give my heartfelt endorsement of the idea of touring the Anthracite Museum. For those who have taken the tour, you understand. For those who haven't, it's totally fascinating and very worthwhile. My wife and I took the tour some years back when we visited Steamtown, and we really enjoyed it.


 


And on the topic of food made in PA, don't forget Wilbur Buds, made in Lititz, PA since 1894, and the forerunner to Hershey's Kisses, which were invented in 1907.

I have a friend who could arrange a tour of

the museum ... at a great rate!./ The mine , itself, might be a bit much for some.
But, it is all very rich in history of our area. I went into the mine on a school trip. Every child in the area should go in it and see what our ancestors went through.
I'm also going to arrange a visit to a vac shop. Lots to do.

We're getting PA made snacks

at a great deal. Plus, all chocolate, etc from PA is all here already.
Lots to do, but all is OK.

and, we just got another new member

who will be attending. We'll have to see what vintage machines he collects.
He'll have a great time, no doubt.

I know someone is setting up a whole

(Hoover) JC Penney display in the meeting room.

I'll be bringing a lot of items to sell, too. It'll be easy, as, I'm only 5 miles from the hotel.

I also have some Kirbys to

part with, as well as an Oreck, Bissel (carpet sweeper), and an anniversary Electrolux.
I'm going to put up all of the vintage Hoover banners I got in N Canton.

There might be a lot of displays

at the hotel. Several 'vignettes' will be at my house too. They'll all be Hoover, of course.

There will also be lots of

Hoover appliances for sale, trade, etc.
The hotel will have 2 meeting rooms this time. It should be interesting. &#92

It will be a good opportunity

to get out my unused, but vintage model Z and the Conquest from the vault

scrumptious food planned

all home made at my house, plus, the SAt p.m. dinner will be at a great Italian restaurant. They're preparing a special menu for us.

no china, (well the cakes might go on Lenox cake plates)

but it all will be served at my house in a tasteful, but casual setting.
And, lots of vintage appliances.

Candles, cloth tablecloths

perhaps vintage Hoover items as centerpieces. It's been done before.

maybe some Hoover sprayers,

an array of table appliances. And, who could forget hoods!?

I'm planning out the house display.

Vintage under the "stairs". One can't neglect those stairs.
At the moment, the house looks like Home Depot... Aisles 9 through 18.

I just leanred, in church, that my carpenter has just been

diagnosed with throat cancer. I might have to secure another guy. What gets done by the convention gets done. What doesn't......
But, I'm still charging through.
I found all of the vintage vac toys!

I'm removing the old cabinets.

I'm also getting all Hoover paperwork ready to display. Some will go into file cabinets.

And, I have beautiful glass-covered display cases

to display Hoover baseballs, cuff links, rain bonnets, playing cards, etc..........

Old friends reuniting

new friendships being made...vacs to see, trade, but, sell, enjoy.
Learn about a new city, see 2 collectors' collections, enjoy some great food and hospitality. It's all good.

as far as food, nothing dry that's not supposed to be d

nothing sour: tea, lemonade, or even grapes. All sweet.
We are having a great, tasty, and nutritious fruit salad, with a home made glaze. The recipe is in the family for decades. Tedious to make, but worth it.

and, all vac toys, srtifacts of THe Hoover Co, toys

and paperwork will be displayed. I'm getting the piano tuned so Ken Wagman can play for us.
