Mystery dustpan attachment...
Dave, could your mystery attachment belong to a Black & Decker Collector hand vacuum? It looks to me like it adapts the nozzle end of one of those to accept a hose for using a crevice tool or the like. It looks about the right color for the Collector or a similar hand vacuum.

Now that I see the attachment close up I think Chad is right. It does look like the adapter from a dust buster type.
