This morning I received the replacement motor for my Turbopower 1000 which I'd sourced from a Spares/Repairs Turbopower 2 U2464 on eBay.
Despite being an 800W motor it was the exact same design and took less than a minute to hook up.
After painstakingly putting the rest of the vacuum back together (Hoover sure did like to make sure everything had plenty screws holding things in), I replaced the original 13A fuse with a 5A one (for two reasons; because of the lower wattage motor and just in case there was a fault with it) and plugged it in then pressed the power button...
And she fired up for the first time in months! Plus, the "new" motor is actually a lot quieter for some reason - perhaps due to the lower wattage.
So the 1994 Hoover Turbopower 1000 lives again!
