This morning I received the replacement motor for my Turbopower 1000 which I'd sourced from a Spares/Repairs Turbopower 2 U2464 on eBay.

Despite being an 800W motor it was the exact same design and took less than a minute to hook up.

After painstakingly putting the rest of the vacuum back together (Hoover sure did like to make sure everything had plenty screws holding things in), I replaced the original 13A fuse with a 5A one (for two reasons; because of the lower wattage motor and just in case there was a fault with it) and plugged it in then pressed the power button...

And she fired up for the first time in months! Plus, the "new" motor is actually a lot quieter for some reason - perhaps due to the lower wattage.

So the 1994 Hoover Turbopower 1000 lives again!

Indeed I have, I'm over the moon.

That Turbopower 1000 was always my favourite vacuum and I had given up hope of getting her running again after receiving that no good motor, but thank goodness I found that U2464 on eBay and the seller was willing to remove the motor and post it to me.

Plus it only cost £12 as he just wanted postage. What a bargain.

I just hope that motor doesn't burn out like the last one!

Great!

Glad you have your favorite vac back! I know how it feels when you lose, or in your case almost lose, a beloved vac. For instance I have a direct air bissell, the non crap kind, that I love however the motor speed has started to change randomly, the commutator is messed up, oh well.

Also, if I recall correctly, your collection was smaller when you joined!

I know what you mean, I cried when the motor mount in my red Panasonic Jet-flo broke and the motor broke the plastic housings around it
