Here is the Super Portable from 1969. It was the third model to feature the cord reel which was obviously by now made by Hoover. The good cord reel of the past two models was dumped and they made this much cheaper version. Enjoy!

Great Pic's

Wonderful pictures of your Hoover! I am getting more and more into the machines from the "60's" and "70's" as I learn.
I do recall my Grandmother having a slimline at one point w/ tool storage, wonderful vacuum as I recall! Love the rug/floor tool, one of the best ever made in my opinion.
Thank you for the post Tom, I hope you enjoy your "new" Hoover!
On a different note. Thanks vacuumkid3 for teaching me about the wavy key in your ~~K~~. See guys, you can teach an old dog new tricks.
Happy Hoovering All,

Well I Never!!!

Hi Tom, A portable with wheels!!! Having gotten used to ones without "It doesnt look quite right",how long did they produce these with wheels??

The nice thing about your plugs is that they fit inside the moulding, ours lurch outside and cause a right pain when you have the cardboard box to fit it into...

Thanks for sharing, Mike

Hoover got their use out of these wheels as they went on the top of the line Celebrity cleaners. They did NOT take out the "dents" where the smaller rear wheels were so you can easily see where the "lesser" wheels would have been. My complaint with the big wheel models is that they tend to tilt backward with the lid open. They do travel a little easier especially over throw rugs and such. This was the last really big improvement on this design since the Celebrity really replaced it.
