They might still have it but when it comes time to replace it, They tend to want something with built in pipes. I am not saying its not a good vacuum or saying that there isn't a market for a standard upright vacuum, Just not a big enough market for one at those prices.
On this Forum we all get upset about modern vacs and wish they still made vacuums like they used to years ago but the truth is we are a minority. If customers wanted vacuums like they were made years ago Vacuum company's would make them but they don't. Today its all about convenience.
I speak for my self here aswell, when I get to use my vacuums on say the weekend or on Holiday I love to use my royals, I love the purr of the motor, The brilliant shine of the polished aluminium,the way the bag blows out, But in my modern home with two young sons , pets and various floor surfaces its not a vacuum I can use every day. No for that I have a New Dc51. During the week I am just another consumer looking for the fastest way to get the house clean after a long days work and before dinner.
