These are the ones I have down here (Tybee Island, GA) which is near Savannah. My Hoover 66, a Hoover Elite Soft&Light, One of the first generations of the Eureka Boss uprights, and a Kennmore Twin-Fan. The Boss and the Soft&light were department store purchases after we bought the house and I brought the Twin fan and the 66 later. The Twin fan was one of the very first vacuums I bought when I started collecting and the 66 came from my good friend Ken Hedrick. I remember my grandpa bought 2 of the Boss uprights when we first bought the house but only one has survived (in excellent shape!) and I thought the Soft&light had been ruined when someone used it to clean out the fireplace but all it needed was a new bag and some cleaning, it's still in great shape too actually.

OMG

My friend in The PGA Village she has those same drapes & the matching bed spread that goes with them. Small world I'd ever see those again

So basically, you shop for decor that will highlight your vacs.  I like that.

If you change vacs, it requires a redecorating.

What a downer it is with most of todays black and gray vacuums.

Those drapes are from 1985 lol

They sort of match the Boss I guess lol I hadn't really given that a thought. No matching bedspread here though, that pic was in the basement hallway, they were to go with the grapefruit pink walls, gotta love the 80s and pink and black lolol

Thanks John!!!

I completely agree!! The 66 was also one of the first ones I got in my collection too. I also love the Garland Green colour too! I just need to find an original bag for it.

Born in 1985?   Ugh.  Moving to my first Apartment at 19.

It was the end of an era of good fashion, music, movies. interior design.

After 1986, things went off the charts and then down hill until the mid 90s.

As for designing around appliances-  yeah, I've done that.   lol.

I'll agree with that DelaneyMeegan!

I love 80s music and SOME of the interior design lol. Lots of polished brass & glass and paintings like this! Lol

looks like some type of pond in the distance. (?)

OK, it's a bit bigger than a pond.  Riparian designations are not one of my strong points.  I once sold a house with a bird bath, claiming it was lake front property.

Well yours is a beautiful tranquil spot.   And the building looks well maintained as well.   And you have more courage.  I don't think I could live that close to the ocean, again.  If I did, though, it would need to be a beautiful spot like this.

Mark- what are you waiting for?

re; lakefront oasis, design:

Some design trends did improve in the 80's. Softer Olefin replaced scratchy Herculon, plush Saxony carpeting replaced shag, and the Masland "Inner Circle" style of loop woven carpet. More hardwoods on case goods replaced the plastic faced occasional tables, and acrylic painted art work replaced those racetrack on mirror wall art.
My Hidden gardens in the whispering pines suburban oasis. That means in the front garden I have larger planting beds than my neighbors on either side, an oriental tiered fountain, blue clematis, an althea (lavender rose of Sharon), a limelight hydrangea tree, a smaller bush type, a few roses, dasies, black eyed susans, zenias, flox, a perennial hibiscus, endless summer hydrangeas, a purple lilly, Julia Child rose, 4th of July rose, Dick Clark rose, and a colorific rose.
Opposite side of garage, salvia, an improved blaze climbing rose. In the back garden, Irises, more zenias, tall flox, butterfly bushes, more clematis, an Amadeus rose, a sugar moon white rose, that bloomed purple this year for some odd reason, a red flower carpet rose, orange day lilies, Princess Diana lilies, more salvia, trumpet vines, hardy mums, a smooth lady rose, a few annuals, and an easy elegance and a knock out rose. Patio pots with lavender and Russian sage.
The neighbors have evergreens. Oh, I have one blue chip juniper.
It's not ocean or lakefront, but it's home.
I'm currently adding an outdoor model railroad. I decided to forgo the coy pond and waterfall. Water and trains don't mix.
