The Original Kirby Heritage 1HD Power Cord

One of the Kirby Heritage 1HDs owned by Adam Mercer (adambomb89) has this mold of male plug. It is the 1983 model in his collection that has it.

I'm wondering if it had been sourced from a company other than Belden as a result?

I looked at the cord on my Heritage 11 and it has a K inside the same "crest" as the M does on the Heritage cord. I wonder what company the M stands for and if Kirby started making their own cords.
