Very similar, but I tried putting a Fairfax power plant on the Mc Allister Hydro Vac shell, and it is slightly larger, must be some family history.

There all so unique. I love the Kenmore's =). The Anser is nice, different. I also love the Pink Kenkart. The rug tool on that must have some nice airflow, with the brush being in the middle.

Speaking of McAllister/Fairfax here's a fetching green beauty that appeared on eBay in September 2008. I am sad to say that my bid was NOT the winning one. :-(

Sure, the tools are all newer replacements but with the J-wands and proper hose connections this would have been a rare beast to set beside the McAllister and Fairfaxes...Fairfaxi?

I have a fairfax from the 90's, and it is quite bulky, although it works really well, and I love the design of it. I have to say that the mc allister vacs are pretty neat
