Glad you got everything back. As you say, that door to the past is now closed for good and all, so the only direction in which to move is forward into a brighter future. Best of luck in your new venture.
If I was closer I would have totally helped, unfortunately being so far and having my little ones makes my time scarece, I will be coming to visit sooner then later!!
They knew better than to keep your machines. The negative publicity would’ve been a big hit to their customer base.
The worst part is that their dissolution of the museum destroyed sales opportunities that was working for them. Think of all the sales revenue generated just because someone came to see the museum and then stopped to look at the vacuums in the factory store. Incidentally, their so-called close out pricing is not as low as when the factory store was in full swing. Guess it’s all about the money, from now on.
Tom, you gave them some incredible ideas for product development. I hope you still feel good about that.
To build the New Museum is so much work. But as the Beatles so aptly put it “I get by with a little help from my friends.“ I could never have moved so many machines in 45 minutes. You are all Loved! And of course, the vacuum collectors convention in June of next year. Can’t wait.
All I can say is HOLY SHIT!!!! What a collection Tom! I never saw even a quarter of what is in the pics when I was with you last year! Glad you got everything back and can officially turn the page! "YOU" deserve the very very best my freind!!!!!
Glad you got everything back. If I could have driven, I would have definitely been there to help, but if I tried to drive, well, that would be dangerous. Hopefully we will be able to have a convention later this year as well once everything is in place, it sounds like Tacony's only goal now is to spend as little money as possible and that will be their downfall, it takes money to make money.

Hey Tom,
As anyone who was involved knew, you were the museum. Well done on your move to independence. I know this will be a good move for you and the collection
Our first day as an Independent vacuum cleaner dealer - Sales and Repair. I had to get this old rug clean, so of course, I used a Hoover model 70. It beats as it sweeps as it cleans. Much thanks to my good friend Daniel Paul for giving me this beautiful carpet for my brand new Wall Of Fame portion of the store.
Gorgeousness. On our first day. The beautiful Roses are from a good friend who gave a LOT of time and help. The other was from our landlords. We also made front page in the local newspaper. I have a good feeling about this
Finally have a few extra minutes for more than a sentence or two.It is amazing what an American company can and will do when they discover China! We once had the last TV factory in US nearby. Now that and more are GONE.Looks like you will be better off than ever with new vac store/museum.All about this should be nothing but positive. Not being tied to one company will allow your customers to learn what is best for them and their home.As you know Rainbow is even better than when you sold before,Kirby & Sanitaire can be good for an upright customer and Elux/Aerus has a model for all budgets and needs including the best shampoo/polisher.I have felt that if Aerus had a basic Discovery style upright & LE style tank that was known and promoted they would easily sell the customer who would drive to the dept store to buy a $60-$200 vac.Something you can now prove. Not to mention knowing which vac to repair and which to scrap. Will you have the ancient central vacs and offer sales/installation on new ones?Great collection of small collectables at reply 52.Many of us have some of them but few have or have seen all. What is red Elux 'book' touching SweetAir can?
I happened to find a Route 66 cookbook last week from the 90s that mentions St Charles/Rolla as being known for grapes, wine, famous bar-b-q and a car museum.
Best Wishes & Good Luck.(but this may be more a matter of experience than luck)
Jimmy
I have not seen eye to eye with you. I knew you were a tortured soul. Your community loves you and your not tortured being unhappy at work. I can tell you are happy it's like your a young kid or you get to live your dream again on your terms.
Holy cow you have alot of vacuums.
You bringing in a new museum is kind of inspirational to us Americans can sell vacuums in us and be successful. You are inspiring lots of people. If I had financial soundness I'd open a vacuum shop too.
