Today I pickup this little gem for £21.00, it's in mint condition, have been after one since I saw Mike King's on here a few years back.....

The French made U5032 UK Convertible, just love the color. I understand its from around 89 and was made for one of the department stores here but I maybe wrong.

Needs a clean up and I'll take some better pictures

Hoover Convertible

Congratulations Mark on finding another great Hoover, they are great machines and I do love the unique colour!!, is that the range of tools that came with it?

They do pull some power, have had many a contest at "Al`s Emporium" would be great to meet up there at some point!!

Thanks Mike,

I'm really happy with it and it really is a great performer. It came with that set of tools in must have been the standard at the time because I got the same tool kit with a gray Convertible from France.

And yes we do have to catch up would be great, Seamus and I are trying to lock a date in to meet up also.

And here the last Australian made DAM, Convertible or as we called in the Dynamatic it's from 1976

I noticed yet another design change on this one vs the UK machine. The cord is located on the opposite side of the body and the power switch is on the side not the top.....funny how there where so many little changes made to the same cleaners across the Hoover group.

Dynamatic

Hi Mark, yes all those little differences and those colours, the first Convertible, DAM, I ever saw was when I was doing my paper round at 12 yrs of age, the lady of the house had gone to get her money to pay the bill and I noticed at the end of the hall the back of the cleaner with the tools attached but couldnt work out what it was, on subsequent sitings it still had the same setup......I later realised that the handle was missing (broken, always seemed to be a weak spot) and it was the orange and brown model - they where using it with the tools only....

Yes lets see if we can meet up at Al's emporium some time!!

DAM

Looks great with the color matched inlet hose and graphics on suction control.Convertible name is perfect here.-But,Dynomatic sounds like you are trying to describe an old Buick transmission.
