Back in 2000 I took my first visit to the Hoover historical center and I have been visiting every year there since! The last time I went to the Hoover historical center was April 14 of last year......I will hopefully be going again on April 12... Toured the Hoover Historical Center on April 20, 2007. I was the only person on the Tour and had a wonderful time with Vera and Diane as they led me through the center, even got to see the goodies in the basement that were not on display. Vera and Diane both kept telling me "YOU NEED TO MEET TOM ANDERSON" as I kept telling them more about the Hoover Vacuum Cleaners they were talking about. Can't wait to tour the Center again in August. For those who have never been to the center they even have a really cool gift shop in the upstairs at the end of the tour, with souvenirs to buy and newer model Hoovers you can play with! What a awesome two hours!!!!

Great Pictures!!

I've been to the Center about 3 times, the last two were with Tom Anderson during mini-meets he hosted. I always enjoy visiting the Center, and it seems like there's always something to see that you didn't notice before, no matter how many times you've been there.

You will not find a nicer man than Tom Anderson, his knowledge and love for the Hoover product is truly a great asset to this club.

Tom knows many who have worked for Hoover, he has now been into the Hoover Vault and is doing his best to preserve that part of our vacuum history.

There are many folks in our club who have come and gone, shared thier knowledge with us, but Tom has actually documents most of his knowledge and shares it now with us through his wonderful pictures. He is the committee chair this year for the convention, so if you come to Omaha in August you will get a chance to meet him.

Tom, I can not Thank you enough for all that you have done for us as a club and for all that you have done to help everyone remember one of the greatest vacuum companies in America "Hoover"

Made my very first visit to The Hoover Historical Center this past November. Vera and Diane sure do know their stuff and can answer any question you toss at them. Delightful gals with a real love for all things Hoover.
When I arrived I was directed to the small building just ne of the main house, down a short path. This is, I recall, the original Tannery building from pre-vacuum cleaner days. Besides displaying the tannery tools and a complete history of the Tanning Trade, it also houses a jaw dropping selection of genuine, as well as re-creations of, manually operated vintage vacuum cleaners other inventors dreamed up.
