The happiness of unboxing a new vacuum cleaner...

Ah, the distinctive derriere of a Canadian 50 series...

But no, look at those floor tools and what appears to be a collapsing wand...and so that would be a European Electrolux judging by the two pin plug. And oooooh she got the new Turbotool polisher.

Its a model 62 (from Sweden I believe) Where in the world did you get the pic Charlie? And if its part of the manual can we see the rest?

Color scheme on that one was Dark Green ends and a tan body. Made from 1957-59 or there bouts this would be one of the last ones (late 1958) as it shows the dual dusting brush and telescopic wand.

Yes, a Gold Star to Doug Smith for correctly identifying this as a Model Z62. However, it's a German model, not Swedish. Yes, this is the cover of the instruction brochure. All the photos inside are the same as the Swedish version, only difference is the text which is in German.

Could you explain how the disposable bag system on this machine works? From the rather unclear photos, it appears that there's a sort of donut-shaped ring through which you pull the top of a paper sack -- ?? But I really can't tell.

While I've never seen the machines in person I believe you are quite right about the bag system - it was a simple paper bag that you pulled through a plastic ring then flared out so the over sealed against it. If you look at the picture I posted the bag is shown in it (Incidentally it has the wrong wand with that machine too) In Canada the model 57 used the same bag but the cover had a spout on the inside which it went over and a rubber ring that held it in place.

Can we twist your arm into posting the rest of the manual?

Doug

LOL - actually there were versions of the 62 all through Europe. While most were the Green and Tan I really like the Australian version (see below) - it was Blue with Red ends the same as the Canadian model 54. Wish I could get hold of either one of them :) . A friend in Belgium is sending me a model 25 shortly but I'm going to have to dig up some accessories for it somehow.

And yes Walter - you REALLY do need to get a camera. I'd love to see some of the machines you have.
