Nice! The difference between the new bag and the older bag is shocking. Must have sat near a window a long time
The bag on the later model 7 was laundered and has had a general rougher life(black overspray from the last owner on the bottom near the clip and inlet for example). The older bag also has a wire ring in it to keep its shape, imagine those wore through the bags alot. Also, the bag tension is the only thing that holds the handle up lol. Its funny, the Eureka 7 is the lowest I've ever paid for a vac at $1.17, and the 4 is the highest at $410 total.
Scott- You will find some old Eurekas, just give it time. The one on the right I got locally for $1.17 from an auction. There is a seriously untouched model 7 with brush, hose and socket plug in MN for $75 right now. I have a spare Eureka 9 and G2 if you are interested, neither have original bags or switches though, and the G2 is more of a parts machine.

I think $70 and around there seems like a normal price.
I got both my 9's (same seller) for about $75 or so (and thats with shipping). I can;t remember if that was for each or both, but I bought both because the other one I thought might be a different model. It turned out both were the same model but with different bags.

Took some additional pics tonight. I did forget to include the 2 small wheels hidden inside the head.
Looks like the second tag says it was dealt to a hotel? The rear wheel is spring loaded to go either way, though I think if it is facing towards the head it is in "storage mode" as it rubs against the motor.

Mystery model
Kieran, I'm having trouble identifying the model "letter" on one of my Eurekas. I was told there never was a model "J". The serial plate which is located on center top of fan housing which is in black with Eureka painted in orange. Unfortunately, the serial plate is so worn down there's barely any paint remaining. On the lower right side of plate, below the list of patents, it reads, Universal type motor, and below that is the letter"J" followed by the 2293675, so J2293675 is all I have. The letter "J" is stamped larger and is filled with black paint.
If there were no model J's I don't know what to make of this. It's a single speed, straight suction model. The front 2 wheels mount underneath the fan chamber, not on the nozzle. The bag clip is to the right front of the serial plate on fan housing. I can't upload it now as it's being rewired partially by a friend whose out of town or I'd do so.
Can you help identify with what I've described. I know a picture says a thousand words! The motor purrs like a kitten. The model "G" is a two speed with brush roll, has after market bag in decent shape. No bag on the mystery model, Thank you for any help on identifying said model. Bill

Model 9 #1 that I have is H1814426 (that might be a 3 and not an 8 I can't tell)
Model 9 #2 is H1_ _ 5964
I'm going off photos I took of the tags and the tags were barely legible as they are so I'd have to look again when I can read hem better.

Yeah they are both later model 9s, the serial numbers started at 524500 and ended at 1758231. If the serial number starts with 18 in this case it is a model 10, which had the wheels bolted to the fan case so it is likely a 9.
