The classic Fantom 11 amp

The first version of the thunder, the very first being the SC Johnson Vectron. The motor armature spins very smoothly, the wheels seemed to be lightly scuffed so this tells me it’s in mint condition, am I right ? The Fantom thunder is something I’ve always wanted ever since I was a child, it drove me crazy, it was a have to have machine. Everything seems to be intact aside from missing its attachments when I got it only having the dusting brush I added a crevice tool from a Fury I got which blew up on me after a day of using it and also got the original floor tool too (RIP Fantom Fury) But based on its condition and looking at the wheels it seems like it’s in mint condition, HELL even the plastic exhaust grates are not broken and I only had to super glue one back on lol. I want to get your guys opinions on the condition of my Fantom. I got in 2014 at a garage sale I posted a thread of this on 7/11/2014 Which was the same day I got it, from the username “ilikefantoms”. I hope this has plenty of years left on it.

Oook so it seems like in the middle of photographing the clean out port I found this with some sort of serial number on it or part number ? please tell me what this is, it sure looks a bit worrysome to see that in the clean out port, it belong to anything ? Also the switch doesn’t work too which is common on these just thought I’d put that out there, this clear peice of plastic might be important

I don't know what that is, but it clearly looks like it was up in that hole on the left in pic #7. If I had to venture a guess, it looks like a wire insulation, for example, to cover the contacts on the back of a switch.

would it be ok without it ? may seem a bit silly over a peice of plastic but this is the only fantom i have and strangely enough this is the only fantom ive ever seen in idaho, i bought my fury off ebay which to my luck died half a day later, so im very over protective of my fantom and want to make sure its in good running condition all the time. Although its just a guess and could be something different its probably not a thing to worry about on a second note.

I have no idea. Never touched a Fantom (or many other vacs, for that matter). I would just look up in that hole where it fell out of and see if it makes sense to be there. If you can't determine anything, just put the plastic bit in a drawer somewhere until such a time as you can figure where it goes, if it even goes at all.

If it is what I think it is, its absence will be harmless unless you're sticking screwdrivers or fingers into places they ought not be with the machine plugged in.
