Well, I thought all was going well, until I tried to put a belt in it. It happens the brush is glued in really tight. It is not removable. I have no idea what to do. I got scammed on ebay. The guy said it works very well. This is a disaster. I have no idea how to get the brush out at all. I do plan to restore this machine, as it has a metal commercial motor with a metal fan. I don't want to get rid of it. How do you get the brush out if it is glued tight?

What make of vacuum is it?

You may need to take a large screw driver and force the brush roll out. Any signs of rust on the ends of the brush roll? or compacted dirt or carpet threads?

Look for a new thread I am about to post. You will see how dirty and rusty the machine is. I also think it is missing some small parts and a small screw to hold the bag in. For sure, I will need to really restore this machine. But it has a nice sounding smooth metal motor.

How did you get scammed? Was it sold as something it isn't? Was it sold a mint, near mint or used? Did you ask any questions? Did the seller misrepresent the vacuum? Or did you make assumptions, or wish you'd asked questions that you didn't? Do you just feel like you paid more than you wish you had? I'm curious as scammed is a very strong word.

Well, I thought it was in good condition. I think I should have paid at least $80 for it including shipping. $130 is like the price of something vintage and that works and that is clean. This machine is really dirty. I might need a whole day to restore it. It's going to cost more money to restore this, but this is very rare. I've never seen this model commercial vacuum. I've seen more Vintage Sanitaires than Vintage Eureka Commercial Vacuums.

And yes, there are metal spring clips. I just might need to clean it first, then i will be able to take the brush out.

so you have buyer's remorse because you paid more than you think you should? sounds like you'll know to ask questions next time. you didn't get scammed, you got excited and now regret that you got carried away. that has happened to most of us at one time or another.
