Well, it's all over and done with ... except for a week-long leftover binge!

Our Thanksgiving Dinner came off smoothly and without a hitch. Timing everything just worked like magical clockwork: Nothing got burned, and nothing was under-cooked. And it was all ready exactly for when I planned it to be.

One special entree, made in honor of my recently-departed brother Noel was one of his annual specialties, corn pudding. I had never made it before and it's a bit tricky to get just right. He must have been looking over my shoulder and guiding me: It came out perfectly. (I'm sure gonna miss him.)

Arlee and I hardly fought at all. (There have been years when I came *this* close to chucking the entire dinner over the balcony.....)

Our friends Chris and Eric were our honored guests this year.

I hope everyone had a joyous and bountiful celebration of giving thanks.

Too cute!

puppy and kitty.
I missed not having pumpkin pie this year, but we had a delicious four beery crumb top pie, and pumpkin custard with pecan topping.
My turkey was also tasty, end even better this morning. I could taste the apple cider, allspice, clove, ginger, and orange I brined it in.
I mashed the Yukon gold potatoes with a food mill, and even the peels were incorporated.
I put cremini (baby Portobello) mushrooms in the stuffing this year, and fennel Italian sausage.
We also had fresh cranberry orange sauce, roasted brussles sprouts, glazed baby carrots and yeast rolls.
I set a simple table with my vintage mid century white platinum trimmed china, and some crystal goblets and serving bowls.
The little one said it was her new word she learned last week. Bujiouazeee.

um, where was my invite!! to make up for it you can dry freeze any left over asparagus and the hollandaise sauce and ship it to Kansas!!!
Everything looked fabulous! I bet you guys had a very blessed dinner and fellowship! Well done sir

For a moment, I thought 29166 might be your zip code until I looked it up and saw that was the one for Ward, South Carolina.

Having spent my entire life in the Carolinas, where all Zip codes begin with a '2', it looked very natural to me. It took me about two seconds to process that Zip codes beginning with '29' are in South Carolina and then that made me curious as to exactly where 29166 was, so about three seconds on Google led me to Ward, S.C., at which point I decided to post some self-deprecating humor.

The menu was a very nice touch! I have no hope of that...if I went to the trouble and something went wrong, was out of place, not PC or whatever, the Asperger's would make me want to stick a fork in their neck.

This is the first yr in a long chain of TDays that I didn't cook the whole meal....
However, I made two pies(Key Lime and Old Fashioned Apple). Since I have a lot of vintner customers, I brought the wine. It was awful and I really like that customer...never again with her wine! Got a $200 bottle in the cellar for Xmas that I know is the best from my stellar French customer....lol.
